EADA is the only UK Dancesport Association recognised by Sport England and the Sports and Recreation Alliance as the Official Governing Body for English Amateur Dancers.

EADA Ltd is a Company limited by guarantee with three Directors who form the Executive Committee and Board of Directors

EADA Ltd is run by a General Council of volunteers

EADA is a non-profit making organisation

EADA is a registered Charity

 

EADA is Governed by a democratically elected General Council.

Elections are held at the AGM at which every member of EADA has one vote

  1. THE PROMOTION OF COMMUNITY  PARTICIPATION  IN HEALTHY RECREATION BY PROMOTING AMATEUR DANCESPORT IN ALL ITS FORMS FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT.

  1. TO INCREASE THE PARTICIPATION IN DANCESPORT AT GRASSROOTS LEVEL AND TO RAISE THE PROFILE AND IMPROVE THE STANDARD OF ALL GRADES AND STYLES OF AMATEUR DANCING, WHILST INSPIRING ENGLISH AMATEURS TO LEAD THE WORLD.

  1.  TO REPRESENT ENGLISH AMATEUR DANCERS INTERESTS BY FORGING STRONG TIES WITH ALL THOSE BODIES AND ORGANISATIONS THAT ARE ABLE TO FURTHER THE AIMS OF ALL DANCERS.

  2. TO PROVIDE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL DANCERS TO DISCOVER, DEMONSTRATE AND DEVELOP THEIR ABILITIES IN THE FIELD OF DANCE

  3. TO MAINTAIN A STRONG, UNITED, INSPIRING AND DEMOCRATIC ASSOCIATION FOR ALL  BONA-FIDE AMATEUR DANCERS, USING AS GUIDELINES THE “CODE OF GOOD GOVERNANCE” PRODUCED BY SPORT ENGLAND.

  4. TO FOSTER TEAM SPIRIT AND IMPROVEMENTS IN PERFORMANCE AMONGST AMATEUR DANCESPORT COMPETITORS OF ALL GRADES, STYLES AND AGES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPORT ENGLAND EQUITY POLICY THAT PROHIBITS DISCRIMINATION ON GROUNDS OF GENDER, MARITAL STATUS, RACE, COLOUR, DISABILITY, SEXUALITY, AGE, OCCUPATION, RELIGION, OR POLITICAL OPINION.

  5. TO  SUPPORT EVENTS, PROMOTIONS, CLUBS, TRAINING, COACHING, FUNDING ( IN CO-OPERATION WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS) AIMED AT PROVIDING EADA MEMBERS WITH WORLD CLASS OPPORTUNITIES.

  6. TO SUPPORT THE INTRODUCTION OF BALLROOM DANCING INTO SCHOOLS. WE HAVE THE EXPERIENCE, CHARITY STATUS, DBS AND CHILD PROTECTION POLICIES IN PLACE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE RUNNING OF SUCH A PROGRAMME.

  7. SUPPORT OF DANCE PROJECTS THROUGH APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING. EADA IS A REGISTERED CHARITY AND AS AN AMATEUR ASSOCIATION  HAS A BROADER LEGITIMACY TO APPLY FOR FUNDING

EADA WAS FORMED IN 1986 WHEN THE BRITISH AMATEUR DANCERS ASSOCIATION(BADA),WHICH FORMED IN 1968, SPLIT INTO ITS CONSTITUENT COUNTRIES FOR REPRESENTATION ON THE WORLD DANCESPORT COUNCIL (WDSF)
